OCA, Canadian High Commission launch animated series to increase awareness about child abuse

Aria’s Story is an animated mini-series which will be presented over the internet as a visual concept map detailing for adults and children the types, nature, and extent of abuse faced by many Jamaican children. The animated series documents the life of the main character Aria, an 8-year-old girl who lives in Kingston, Jamaica and is struggling with a life of serfdom at home. Born in the rural parish of Westmoreland, she is sent to live with her aunt to attend school, but instead, is forced to work grueling hours and complete daunting tasks. If she objects, she is badly beaten. On top of this, Aria also faces sexual abuse from her uncle.
