OCA investigations result in two arrests in the same day… accused arrested for sexual assualts against teenaged minors

The Office of The Children’s Advocate (OCA) conducted two (2) separate investigations which were completed and resulted in the arrest of two adult men for the sexual abuse of two little girls in the same day. This unfolded on Thursday, May 21, 2015. In both matters, Childrenā€™s Advocate Diahann Gordon Harrison was contacted, following upon which investigations were carried out by the OCA’s Investigations Department.

The first accused is 53 year old Evan Thompson. Mr. Thompson who is from Cave District, Westmoreland is also a Pastor. Investigations by the OCA uncovered that the 14 year old minor went to Mr. Thompson’s house last year to collect payment for some items when the minor was sexually interfered with by Mr. Thompson and sexual intercourse allegedly occurred.

In the second incident involving a 15 year old child, Xavian Williams of Linstead, St. CatherineĀ  was also arrested on Thursday, May 21, 2015 for sexual intercourse with a child under 16 years and for greivous sexual assault. Mr. Williams’ apprehension follows an investigation by the OCA, which revealed that he was involved in a physically abusive and sexual relationship with the 15 year old child for approximately one year. He would habitually way lay the child and engage in sexual acts with the her on multiple occasions.

The Office of The Children’s Advocate, despite all odds, pledges that it will continue to protect and safeguard children in Jamaica and to promote respect for their rights.
